I'm headed to the Gorge tomorrow afternoon and plan to fish Mon in WY and Tues in UT. Where is your report? All I can see is the title with a blank in the "text" area?

That is our entire report. Great company and good times and zero fish. We saw macks on the fish finder, but had very few bites. Most others reported slow catching for macks. The trollers were catching a few on Friday.

LOL, I don't think I'd own up to a report like this.[Wink]
You should have tried for some burbot or kokanee. I know a few spots you could have caught some pup macks or were you just after the big boys?

What makes you think we didn't try for kokanee and/or rainbows? Although, we didn't try during prime time.

We were trying for the big boys but at some point we would have been thrilled to have caught a carp.[frown]

I was really impressed with the third photo. Well done!
Thank you. I was partial to the second one.

[#0000FF]If you can't say something nice...say nothing at all.

I did not think it was possible to go to the Gorge during the summer and not catch any fish, call me crazy[crazy] but that could be because I chase the kokes and rainbows first and then target the big fish. I figure it is equal odds, for me at least, to catch a big mack early or late[Wink]. Of course the mack pack would say different but not I. Another thing to consider, if things are going poorly and you want to catch something/anything, instead of hoping for a carp, next time try targeting the smallmouth, they are willing almost any time of the day and can be fun to catch. What area were you fishing?

The few times that I make it to FG my first and often only target is big macks. I don't make it up there often enough to spend my time trying to catch fish (except perhaps for kokanee) that I can easily catch much closer. We launched out of Lucerne.

Thank you. Your lengthy, detailed, and lots-of-pictures posts have been my inspiration for improving my reports. Hope you enjoyed my report.[Wink]

[#0000FF]Yeah. It's a Zen thing. I just stared at your "open" report and let inspiration fill in the unstated splendor.

Ahhh some.

Kent, I love how you make something good out of a bummer. The replies that followed your post were pretty darn funny too (allbeit at your expense). As I sit here trying to think of what to say to console you, I just can't come up with anything. Other than to say that I went through a two year dry spell myself without a mac fix. I think it's getting quite a bit tougher to catch macs up there anymore. I suspect the glory days are long gone. Maybe we'll just have to switch over to trolling for them.
