Fresh Water Fishing Report for:
Delaware Lakes, Ponds, Rivers and Upper Chesapeake Bay
Updated: November 28, 2003. Killens Pond, Dover
S&K Guide Service spent a few hours on Killens Pond in Dover on Thanksgiving morning, and found several largemouth bass willing to hit in the 43 degree water. We arrived at 8:00AM, and started at the sand point by the boat rental area. We picked up a small Chain Pickerel on a jerkbait, but no bass. We moved up to the Island off the main channel, and worked it well with some new "Bearpaws Handpoured Baits". We caught 2 bass by 12:30 PM, both were on a red/white "Lazy Stick" bait, which is similar to a "Senko". One of the bass was 5.2 pounds. It hit the bait in 6 feet of water, right by the Island. We left for our Thanksgiving Dinners at 1:00 Pm, but will try to return again, if our weather holds up for a little longer.
