Went to Bear Lake this morning with the my wife and four of our kids to try for some whitefish at the marina. It's my daughters 8th b-day and this is what she wanted to do most. We tried anchoring and casting with no luck so we used the electric motor to troll along the shore. We were trolling out 30 to 60 feet from shore and the water is only 5 - 9 ft deep out there! Anyway that slow trolling did the trick. We bounced yellow and white marabou jigs tipped with worms along the bottom and got into several nice whites to about 18-19 inches and one jumbo 13-14" yellow perch, couldn't believe the size of that thing. I'll post some pics on Monday morning.

Nice trip and report. I am surprised to hear about the perch. Didn't know any were in there.
