Renegade should work. Or a mosquito pattern.

renegades, brown hackle peacocks are both good. Almost any small fly (16 or smaller) with a peacock body should get you some fish.

Caddis, Royal Wulff, Royal Humpy, Ants, Small Hoppers.
When you going, might see you there. Got to get out of this HEAT!

I always like to throw a woolly bugger behind a bubble in the past. Try olive.[cool]

You can try an Adams or parachute Adams as well. +1 for renegade.

You fly fishing? More like fly wishing in your case!

Nah you should stick to what you are good at....which is TM fishin right? Oh crap you are not good at that either.

If you decide to toss flies do it the right way.....WITH A FLY ROD!!!!!!!!!!!

You can borrow one of mine. I think I have a crappy fly reel and some crappy fly line for you too.

I like the Nymphicator Tung for Grayling and a Mosquito for dry fly fishing is a better choice for all around fish in the Uintas. Adams is good too. Just think super small.

Now don't be ripping on him for using a fly and a bubble. That's how I learned as a kid and threw flies before I could afford a fly rod. I still rig my kids that way as well on occasion. Now true, a fly rod is fun and it's nice of you to offer one to him. Ok enough of my ranting.....it's time to fish!

not a ton of room to work the shoreline with a fly rod at those places. Plus trout fishing is lame, so I better have the lame setup to match. [:p]

I can, I am, and I will!

We know each other well enough to joke and kid around. UtGolf should fly fish, then he will get close enough with his canoe for me to fish! Jeeze he throws 1oz stuff and casts from a football field away. Even double haulin I cannot cast as far.

It's called ROLL CASTING you rookie!!!!!

Man you haven't even seen the stuff I just offered up. Lets say it will not make any orvis dork feel jealous, in fact it might be embarassing just to be seen around you![Wink]

Yeah I love to be able to toss different baits long distances, works great especially from shore. Tossing flies, that's a different story... Don't need to throw them too far all the time. When I am tubing I let my feet do the work after casting I just let out a little more line.

probably heading up thursday morning

Albino, no two ways about it, you need to up your game if you want to fly fish. Quit thinking of it as "fun". It is more than that. Casting a fly with a spinning rig and bubble is no way related and does not prepare one.

I agree totally with Twins advise. You will be able to fish top water to which is awesome seeing the take.
Twin has not been fly fishing long but I watched him roll cast an easy 40' last weekend. WHY? Cause he kept at it and not because it was fun. In his words, I thought this was suppose too be relaxing[laugh]
OH, and never lay your rod down with the line and fly still in the water[Wink]

If you are looking to "match the hatch" you can't go wrong with a Mosquito Pattern.

Black Wolly Buggers work.

Go the way of the fly rod my friend...you won't regret it.

AND, from what I read the other day, you no longer need to buy the pass if you are camping in a camp site up there. Anyone else hear or read this?
[signature]
You dont need one if your camping at an improved campsite. If you use the lakes or trailheads you need one. I had a long conversation with a ranger last week about it.

Thanks for the confirmation Trout. Glad to see this change. Sucked paying for the three day pass PLUS a camp site.

Sheesh, when you guys gonna learn, you can't effectively fish for large brook trout with a flyrod. I've proved it time and time again. Grow up and jig![Wink] Just kidding of course. Small trout are fun too.

+1,

I'm sorry I like the fly rod but I also like my spinning rod. Nothing will change there.[cool]
