Hope you did better than my buddy and I. We never touched a fish and only saw 2 in two days. Fri we fished low, never saw a fish or touched one. Creel clerks said 5 adults were caught from the mouth to poverty flats. Dozen + miles of river. We heard the fishing was much better way up river so on Sat we fished high. Much better....we saw two.lol Talked to a bunch of fishermen and all said Frid a big group moved through and hatchery folks recycled a couple hundred extra hatchery fish which accounted for the good catch rates. We didnt talk to anyone that had caught one on Sat.

Water was lower than Ive ever seen it. Really warm to.

I had to cancel my trip due to last minute family issues, but I had several friends (two groups of three) who went that reported the same thing as you. Lots of people and very little action. In fact, none of them witnessed more than two adults hooked all weekend. Both groups included some pretty darn good fishermen.

So now with three reports that all said the same thing, I am really wondering how F&G estimated that 420-something got harvested. Interestingly enough, I figured we should have had a quota of about 400, and they have already announced it will remain open at least one more weekend . . . But I guess where they have already trapped the 1300 they need for broodstock, whatev huh?

Well they got 5 in the lower river and recycled a big pile of excess hatchery fish mid morn on Frid which then ran a gaunlet of 500 fishermen. I heard that they creeled 300 fish on friday in the upper 1/3 with 3/4 of those were recycled. who knows though.
