Had family come visit, so I was able to justify putting work on the backburner for a couple of days.
We hit Lamont for a couple hours on Thursday evening. Water level was fairly low. Water clarity was awful (from folks having fun on the lake in ways that include lots of waves). Caught a few footlong bass, but it was fairly unproductive.
The next morning we drove back up, but seeing the water was still murky @ Lamont, we opted to try Johnson. We had a bunch of little boys with us, and so I reasoned that the overabundance of bluegill in there would keep them entertained.
It did.
The kids caught bluegill to their hearts' content. Meanwhile, my brother and I struggled to catch LMB. The bites were few and far between, but we DID manage to catch 3 that were over 3 pounds each! So the lack of quantity was mitigated somewhat by the quality of fish landed... By noon, the kids were done, so we called it a day.
Saturday, I took the motor off my little aluminum boat and we hit Winder. (And WOW! it's low already!!!) Fished from 1-5pm. The wind was blowing pretty good, so using the boat proved to be a real hassle. That said, we accumulated quite a few bass, though my 16 incher was the only one worth talking about...
I need to get fishing more this Summer, or the season's gonna pass me by...
