Just wondering. If anyone knows how long it takes to float from byonton boat ramp to Lorenzo never floated it and headed there this weekend sorry on phone cant seem to hit right button to spell

I haven't floated it, but I have heard that section is really dangerous. Hopefully some of the the people who know more will help you out.

I have heard the same thing we still unsure if its something we want to do we might just float from lorenzo to roberts but thats why Im just trying to grt some info

I floated upstream of the reservoir. That was a great float but I wish you luck and safety on yours!

I have only floated that section one time. I think it took 7 hours, but we stop and fish some areas. I think as long as you are aware of the canals and which forks to take in the braids you should be ok. I haven't floated it recently so hopefully someone will chime in with up to date info.

It's one of the shorter floats. 6 to 7 hours depending on flows this time of year. Having floated the two section that you mentioned my only advice would be to float sections above byington unless you have some one with you that has floated those sections before. Of all the stretches to float byington to the confluence with the north fork is the worst for hazards.

we have floated from lorenzo down a few times this year but we have decided to play if safe and float from swan valley to byington people have said that float will take about 10 hours thank you all for the advise I will post how we do

Not trying to scare you off. Thats where a few of the big canals pull off and the river gets a lot more down timber in it in that section. Just some areas that with how fast it flows in higher water stuff can go south in a hurry. Ran a jet in the section for a few years and where the first big canal comes off it can be down right sketchy at times.
