Haven't heard much lately and was wondering if anyone has been fishing Cascade Lake. I'll be up there July 19th through 22nd and planning on spending some of the time fishing either from inflatable pontoon boats or off the bank with my sons.

Hit it las weekend looking for perch, coho, or Kokanee. Blanked on all 3, but caught all the big trout I wanted and then some. I will call you...

Went up there over the weekend, first time ever on the lake. Was looking for deep water to drop my DR's... Where I was the deepest water was 43'. Decided lead core would be the ticket. Caught 5 nice trout (12-20") in about an hour. Also caught a perch that makes the big ones from strike look like bait, couldn't believe the girth on this perch, hindsight I should have taken pics.
Trout are on up there

Thanks for the info thus far. I'll be headed up there Friday afternoon and staying through Monday. Gratefully accept any new reports and/or advice you might have. We'll be fishing from pontoon kick boats. Thanks in advance.

I would appreciate a few PM's as well. I'm headed up there for a family reunion on the 24th-28th. I have down riggers and leaded line if needed...know nothing about that lake.

Recommend stopping by Tackle Toms for the latest on fishing at Cascade very nice and helpful fella. Great place to stay is the Pinewood very reasonable rates and Grammas restraunt is very good. Good luck and we can't wait to get back up there on the hard deck.

I could stand a little PM help as well. I'm heading for Horsethief tomorrow, and thought about hitting Cascade on the way home. Where's a good place on Cascade to find some trout?

Monkeee,
Troll from the town boat ramp out across the lake and do figure 8s off Crown Point. We hit lots of trout out there, just stay over the deeper water...

Thanks for the tip, Mojo.
I didn't make it Cascade though. One night at horsethief was it for me. Mosquito's were treating Deet like a teenager treats pizza.
And the groundsquirrels were chewing on everything I had, including my boat. I had to moor it out in shallow water to keep them off it. But every time I went fishing I came back to find something destroyed in my camp.
But I did go fishing (at horsethief), and caught one of the 4 fish I saw get caught in 2 days. [unimpressed]

I just put together a quick trip and will be at Cascade midday Sunday through Monday. I will be in a tan colored, 20 foot G3 pontoon boat. Say hello if you spot me. This will be my third trip ever fishing there. Still haven't figured that lake out yet, but I'm working on it. [
] I will post a report when I get back.

Kali and I will be there Monday morning. We will probably be fishing in the Crown Point area. We will be in a Hewescraft Sportsman blue and alum. with two Yamahas, and two Penn downriggers. Grey top. Give us a yell and we'll exchange info, or at least lies!! Mike

My son Travis and I fished Sunday and Monday in the Sugarloaf area. Just as others reported the fishing is slow and tough with lots of dink perch around. We christened our new pontoons on this trip and concentrated just on perch. Final outcome is total catch of around 80 fish and kept only fish over 9" which resulted in only 14 keepers. Winning ticket for us was double hook crappie rigs with worm and crappie nibblets [yellow niblets were key]. Weather was terrific, fishing was great altho catching could have been better, scenery outstanding, and the company couldn't be beaten. Thanks to those who provided advice.
