Ogden Canyon road is closed today until at least this evening (Wednesday) due to a water line break and subsequent landslide. The pipeline broke just east of the waterfall at the western end of the canyon and washed debris onto the road as well as sweeping concrete barriers into the Ogden River.

It was the old pipeline that broke, the one being replaced by a new one. (And obviously just in time!) Construction of the new pipeline has closed the canyon to traffic at night for many months. That project is set to finish by the end of July.

No word yet of when the road will be open for day traffic, but it is not expected to be before this evening's regular closure.

Lets hope the road gets re-paved soon. That's one bumpy ride.

I'm late reporting if you've already left, but the road is open again.

The pipeline installation is done, but they'll be doing cleanup until the end of the month. No or only minor traffic issues to deal with now.
