I am going fishing this weekend and was thinking of either heading to Pelican or Sand Hollow. I do have a boat.
I know pelican and I know I will catch a ton of small bass and maybe a toad or two. It is blm, it will be cooler but the size of bass is just no there as it was a couple of years ago. I was there on fathers day the lake was dropping fast. Is it going to be to low?
Sand Hollow is about a 2hr longer drive. It's supposed to be close to 100, I am not as comfortable with my fish finder to find offshore fish or with drop shotting. But is is supposed to have some hogs.
So my question is, is it worth the extra drive and heat to go to Sand Hollow if your not familiar with it. Thanks

Sand hollow for sure! The lake is small and you won't be dissappointed with the quality of fish. Definitely some toads in there. If you like bass fishing it's the place to be right now.

Sand Hollow has a ton more traffic. For that reason I would go to Pelican. The bass are way smaller, but fishing is more enjoyable. Its also a shorter driver. I prefer Sand Hollow during the colder months when there are a lot less people playing in the water.
