Hey all the family and I are headed down to fishlake next weekend and I need a little help. I just need some suggestions for deep water jigs to try for a large mac. PM's are fine if you dont want to post.

Thanks

I noticed your post had slipped to the second page and I was just going to reply. I think you are out of luck on info about jigging as Fish lake. Only info I have ever read about jigging at FL was when members ice fish there. I think a lot of members troll there during the summer but maybe someone will chime in and say something different. If it were me, I'd use the same thing you would use at Bear lake or Flaming Gorge, when jigging for mack. Good luck.

Macks are macks. At Fishlake get in some deeper water (70-100') and get some sonar. Drop some large tubejigs with cutbait. Vary your jigging patterns.

Our last trip to Fishlake was 3 weeks ago. We caught all the medium sized rainbows anyone could want. Started trolling lead line and pop gear on the east side with slow success. Moved to the west side and south of the the Lakeside Marina - game on. Tried some for Macs, but I am not a great Mac fisherman - and probably not patient enough. No Macs. I like splake, but have a harder time finding them in the summer - better through the ice. I am sure you can find perch on the weed beds with jigs and bait. Have fun, it is a beautiful place.
