Headed out of Idaho Falls around 2:00 this afternoon, 65 miles out and a 3 mile four wheeler ride and we were up to a mountain lake. Brought a bubble and a grasshopper, the lake if you can call it that...The pond was 80% covered with water lilies but the Cutts were ready to rock and roll. Threw a bunch back, but kept a few eaters. Please no gasping.... yes I do eat a cutthroat occasionally. My biggest this afternoon was right at 20 inches. When you see this lake it's tiny to have fish this big. What do you think of this funky little one with no tail?
Happy fishing.

That is definitely a pond. Good fish though! I love the picture of your boy with the big one!

The one without the tail is very weird. I'd love to see some better pictures of that one......
Looks like a great time. How did the one without a tail fight?

He waterskied across the surface, couldn't put up much of a fight the poor little guy.

Looks like the lilies have a good hold this year! Funny how many people fish that area and not fish that lake. Fun spot to ride and fish. Congrats on some nice cuttys.

Also saw some BIG dog prints.... Are there wolves in that area?

Yes, there are very likely wolves there.

Here is the map of known packs. Page 4.

But considering that they don't even show the two areas where we personally have seen wolves, Copper Basin and south of Pocatello, then I assume that there are a lot more of them spread out than they show on the maps. They can travel along ways.

Oh yea, there are a few. We have seen them on multiple occasions right along the highway down by the camp ground.

Never seen that map before. That one pack area is right on top of that spot. Interesting map yet sobering at the same time. Thanks.
