I have never fished Currant Creek before and I will be doing some shore fishing there this weekend. Any tips on technique, lures, and bait you have had success with?
Thanks!

I love that place, however, I have trouble fishing from the shore. When I've been up there, the shore fishermen having success were always using powerbait. I had some followers on floating and sinking rapalas. I know it's not the most helpful reply, but that's where I'd start.

This time of year, it's best to float it, but the best spot right now from shore will be a bit of a hike to the steep side, just north of the longer bay on that side.
Getting there, you'll either park at the gate and hike around the inlet tunnel or you'll hike down from the overlook on the same side. Either one takes awhile and you end up going through a lot of sage brush.
Fish about 3 feet off the bottom with worms and you'll slay. Always have from there.

Try near the inlet with larger spinners. There are some real bruisers that hang out in the stronger current. I have always had luck on the less steep side of the lake as well. However there will be a lot of weed that is hard to get around. Powerbait always works, or use a heavier spinner to get out past the weed barrier. IMO just skip the lake and go get some fish from the stream.
