Day started off with a bang with dad catching a good solid 3 lber in the first 5 mins on a senko and then it slowed down quite a bit for us for the next couple hrs. Moved around a couple times catching another 3.5 and a 15 incher on a big worm in the grass. Finally got a couple good keepers in the boat around noon off a rockpile in about 15 ft of water on a big football jig including our biggest of the day that was just a little shy of 6 and another one a little over 4. The bigger one had the head of an 8 lber but was skinny as a rail. So now we had our limit of about 17 lbs which we were pretty happy with but knew we needed to get rid of that 15 incher to have a chance at a check. Finally at about 3:15 we ran back to our first spot and on the 2nd cast my line got heavy and set the hook and up came a nice 4.5 lber. Got her in the boat and we were ecstatic and culled the 15 incher which bumped us up to what we finished with which was 20.74 and good enough for 4th place. This was our best weight and finish as a team in a tourney so far. All of our keepers except one were caught on a 3/4 football jig in 10-15 ft of water. Water temp ranged from about 74 in the morning to 78-79 in the afternoon which is amazing for July!
