We must be doing something wrong. emoScratch We struggled today finding keepers and only caught five that would measure. emoRedface Ended with a decent weight but fell short on getting a check. Another day of little bass and short strikes. We must not be fishing the big fish areas cause today we boated about 25 bass or more and only had the five that would keep out of all of those. We never found a pattern but junk fished our way to a five fish limit that I believe went 16.54 lbs. Derek put the first keeper in the boat early on a Sammie, then little fish one after another. His keeper was just barely a keeper. Then a couple hours later he managed a nice spot that just missed out on the big spot moneys. emoRolleyes Thought we were going to get big spot but one of the last guys to weigh in came up and bumped us out. Derek's spot was on a shakey along some rock bank. Then about eleven working a dock Derek put his third and final keeper in the boat that again would barely measure. Again on a worm. emoRolleyes Now three in the live well and they would hardly make six pounds. Feeling left out and still clearing the little ones out for Derek I was starting to wonder if I was going to even be in the game and play. It was about noon and we had switched places again to a point. A boat went by with some good lookers on it right as I had one load up. I set the hook and it did not move. emoTongue I said out loud, "There's a good one!" I think Derek was so busy looking at the women he thought I was talking about one of them. He was like..."Where?" Then he saw my rod and dove for the net. Finally I was in the game with one close to 6 lbs. emoThumbsup Feeling a little better with four in the well around eleven pounds we had more focus to finish a limit. We were working a drop of some grass that went off into deeper water and I saw some shad scatter and a boil. I told Derek that looked like bass chasing shad and picked up a spook. It was nearly 1:00 in the afternoon and I was throwing a spook. About on my fifth cast the water parted and another very nice one was on my line. This time Derek saw it hit and had the net by me before I even had to ask. One close to five came into the boat. emoThumbsup

Now we have our five keepers and knew we could be close to getting a check if we could only cull a couple of those little keepers. emoAngry It was just not to happen. We boated several more shorts but never could cull up. I think we ended up in about 25th place with our 16.54 but at least we got some good points. It took 19 lbs even to get a check in this one. The weather was very nice and it never got too hot. There was also a bunch of lookers on the water today and when the bass were not biting we at least had some good scenery. emoToast Jmax

Derek has a picture of my two better bass, maybe he can post them for me. emoQuestion
