Went to a little U.S. Air Force Recreation area this weekend and had a lot of fun on their lakes. Their actually more like decent sized ponds but nonetheless provided some good Rainbow fishing. They have 3 ponds, 2 of which are open for fishing now.
A group of us went and got a late start getting everyone together, but although getting on the water late we had a pretty steady bite all day and ended up with 8 decent sized rainbows on a variety of baits (kastmaster, rainbow roostertail, powerbait, and some inflated night crawlers).
Even got to fire off a few rounds, it's a great little spot that I really didn't even know existed.
