At the Soldier Creek Side of Strawberry for the last two weekends there has been a boat "stored" at the courtesy dock. Covered and moored. I thought the courtesy dock was for 15 mins or less docking. You know get your vehicle and load or unload kind-of-thingy...

I ask the DNR gal who said they had no power over anything about why that boat get perminent parking privledges and she said some people just think that they are "entitled".

So what up with that? -
Why isn't someone minding the store at the Berry?

They want more $$ for fishing licenses yet I never see them out checking boats, licenses, wake-less speeders, etc. Write a few tickets and generate some revenue!!

Its a shame that some people think they can do what they want even though it is posted not to. If the state won't write the ticket see if there is a fed ranger present and have them handle it. Since it is National Forest operated I would give the ranger district based in Heber a call and let them know. Problem will probably be solved rather quickly.

[#800000]The first thing you need to understand about Strawberry/Soldier Creek is that it is NOT a State Park; it's a US Forest Service property. As such, enforcement of the rules on that water fall under the general jurisdiction of a Federal Law Enforcement officer, not a Utah Conservation Officer. The Utah CO's are generally only concerned with the fishing regulations as they apply to that area. They are not overly concerned with boats per se. And the American Land & Leisure folks that run the place have NO law enforcement authority what so ever. They must call a Federal Ranger for that function. The only way that boat is going to get moved out of there is if a Federal Peace Officer is involved with the process.[/#800000]

The Sad thing about that guy leaving his boat there is with the DAV coming up this weekend at that location, it is going to be tough to get all those vets in and out of the boats without having all those spots open.
