I was lucky enough to get out for two day of Multi species fishing in Seward last week. We limited both days on halibut, the first day on rockfish, some monster yellow eye, and came up short on the silver salmon but almost limited out. The second day we did limit on the silvers and caught some very nice ones, no yellow eye, and only some small rock fish. Had an absolute blast! I'm going to try and attach the pics from my phone.
Halibut were smaller the first day then the second, guesstimating they were in the 20-25 lb range on average.
Saw whales all around the boat on the second day which was a lot of fun to see.

Nice haul but what is up with that small salmon[:/] in the yellow eye's mouth? Looks like a great trip.

The guide did that to show the size of that yellow eye. The Cpt said its one of the biggest he's seen this season.

I don't know much about yellow eye, how much do they normally weigh?

I really don't know. I caught some hogs but didn't think much of it as I haven't caught them before. The second day they were about two or three pounds. Others made a deal about the size. The big ones fought pretty good.

Cool, they look like some nice fish for sure, I know I never caught any that big.

Looks like an incredible trip to me, but a little unfair. I'm having catfish filets for dinner and you are having salmon and halibut. Do you see the injustice in that?
Congratulations on a great adventure. I'm green with envy. I'm looking forward to seeing you soon. Steve
Very Nice it looks like lots of fun.... Thanks for the story... J

Looks like a fun trip, did you do anything else in the Seward area? We spent the 4th of July there in 2008 and went on a dog sled ride just out of Seward one afternoon. They were some of Mitch Seavey's teams. He actually just won the Iditerod for the second time this past winter. Seward is just beautiful with lots of things to see and do.

Just wondering who you chartered with? I fished with Justin Time Charters in June and I'm headed back in August with my family. I haven't confirmed with Justin Time yet and wondered what type of experience you had

Did you happen to get any wings off of those "Chickens?" :-)
I fish seward quite a bit and Fish House Charters is good for sure. Would recommend them.
Also depends on the boat type you like as I prefer a 6-pack and not a "cattle boat."

We chartered out of the fish house. The second day John Moline owned the boats, Inn and Out Charters is his company. The first day I'm trying to find the boat name. They were both six passenger boats, the first days boat was very large and much more comftorable, had a deck hand and a lot more room to move. I would suggest them for sure over the second days boat. It was a blast both days, don't get me wrong, but the first day the Cpt and deck hand worked about five times harder than the Cpt the second day. Also creature comforts were far better the first day.
