would a blood knot be best and strongest for adding some more line to my reel? I have 12 lb fluoro on my reel and it's running low and I need to add some other 12 lb fluoro to it I have laying around. thanks for any tips or help.

I would use a blood knot as well.

Second that, can't beat the blood.

blood knot or uni to uni. Similar strength.

Check out the crazy Alberto knot on YouTube by far the best one I have ever used. Super compact and very very strong! I have full confidence in it when I tie flouro to braid fishing structure, usually bends my hooks out before the knot even thinks about failing.

Depending on how much line you are adding, you could just tie a triple overhand knot. Easy to tie and super strong. Takes much less time than the blood knot too.

One more vote for uni-uni. It's called the "uni" because it is darn near a universal knot; you can adapt it to darn near any situation.

Blood knot, or simpler knot, Triple Surgeons which is what I use 98% of the time[Smile]
