Nice morning to be on the water. Watched the sunrise and Geese V formations fly around.
We put in at day break and fished until noon. The water temps avg. 78* to 81*. Fished with BGBS various colors with a chartreuse tail light.
Mostly fished bluffs and deep water lay downs with 1/32 oz. jigs. We caught double keeper size Crappie twice. That is always fun!
The keepers vs throwbacks ratio was good. 27 Crappie caught with 20 keepers.
Around 11:00 in the full sun (getting hot) Archie gets hooked on what he thought was a catfish. Just a little tap but the fish pulled hard bending the rod double.
Got the fish near the water surface and 'Good Golly Miss Molly' it was a slabzilla Crappie. Measured it at 16-1/4". Nice TARP.
I guess I do not have to tell you who won the big fish bet.
