I have come to really like using a figure 8 knot on my tippet. After you put the fly on the tippet you tie a figure 8 knot with the first loop around the standing line. When you pull it tight against the line and then slide it down against the hook. It is easy to tie, uses little tippet, and so far seems to have very good knot strength. I use it mainly on fishing streams
The other knot I use frequently is the non-slip loop knot as tied by Brian Chan. I use it mainly on fishing l mainly on fishing lakes.
