I started a large project at work that required me to work a plethora of extended hours starting on 7/24, so when I had a break Saturday afternoon I decided to head up to Nickajack lake for a few hours of fishing before I had to be back at the office. I hit the water about 3pm and headed to some matted grass. Thought I would start out throwing a frog and then move to a regular topwater if I found any schoolers. Caught 3 on the frog in about 45 minutes, with the largest weighing a little over 3 pounds. After that, found some bass chasing bait balls in 5-8 feet of water. Was able to catch them on a LC Kelly Jordan propbait, a clear zara spook jr, and a LC Sammy. In a little under four hours boated a total of 27 fish, 25 of those largemouth and two large white bass. Most of the schooling bass were in the 1.5-2 pound range, but it still made for a fun evening on a limited schedule.
