What a day! Cold, windy and some snow.
Flip and I got to Scottsboro this morning good and early for some fresh biscuits and a little shopping at the tackle store. We hit the water a little later than what we wanted but man oh an..those biscuits were worth the wait!
Flip started off with a nice 3.5 or 7 (can't recall the size) and managed another alittle smaller I think....You guys are thinking to yourselves "Geee BBass, can't you remember what you caught" Well your right and heres why....
My very first time on this lake and my first fish from it went 7.5! Man what a fight! This is a personal best for me and I'm still smiling! What a way to meet a new piece of water.
We fished for some time where we were then move on down a ways. No fish there so we decided to head back into where we got our morning fish. There I managed a 4.5
18 something pounds (???) with 4 keepers. Not bad. Never could get that 5th fish on.
As for the area and bait....I can't tell Not with a Tx coming up on the 3rd..LOL Flip said we got them all on Rooster Tails and Hulla Poppers
I had a great time and will definitely be back. ALL fish were released but measurements were made for a mount on my wall. I can't resist it. At 36 yrs old and this being my best so far, I have to have a trophy.
(Flip, can you clear up the weights for me please)
