I got this thing in the mail for the North American fishing club that sounds like a pretty sweet deal for $24.00. There are many members of it so I know it is real but is it worth it in the end.
It says I get this just for signing up:
Fishing magazine
Fillet set
Rapala lure
20 dollar gas rebate
product testing privileges
Fish hooks
Web site access
Discounts and free gear

I am a trophy life member. It is pretty decent, the magazines have really good info in them for fishing. I do the product testing. I usually get one a year to test. Word of warning though. Once you sign up you will get lots of mail asking you to purchase items from books to DVD,s etc...

I second what Albinotrout said. I'm just a regular member and I enjoy the magazine for rather minimal cost.

NAFC is lacking the information that I am looking for as an angler in Utah. In my opinion. Don't get me wrong, it's full of information but a lot of it is not applicable to Western waters. I have read some very good articles and used that to my advantage but only because I dissect the crap out of them and tweak my own fishing patterns just to see if it will work...is one way to put it.
Not a bad magazine, or 'club', I've got some very nice gear to try out that I still use today even though I am no longer a member. Still my go-to place for knots.

I personally have not been that impressed with them. For general fishing knowledge, I have found that In Fisherman has more useful information that just about anyone else out there. I am a Life Member of BASS and have enjoyed their mag over the years, same with FLW, but for sheer fishing knowledge, In Fisherman has been the best. They also have a great TV Show. I also endorse the Linder's and their show. They are the orginators of In Fisherman, but sold it to Stange and Straw. Spence Petros used to have a mag called Facts of Fishing that was a close second to In Fisherman, but I have not see it around for a long time.
