Decided to go out for a little while Sunday morning and actually TRY to locate and catch some fish with my HBird instead of just playing around with it. Launched in the fog and felt my way out into the river. Started down a deep bluff throwing jigs and caught several short fish and a couple of spots. Couldn't get pictures because of fog and humidity early. I found some fish suspended over a rockpile off the bluff in 35 feet of water and missed several trying to stay on my marker and count down in the current. Finally got frustrated and moved on down the bank till it transitioned to shallow grass. I saw several fish breaking over the grass so i decided to see if I could catch a bass. I tied on the only bass lure I had with me which was a lipless in crawfish color. I burned it over top of the grass and let it drop at the edge. After a few cast and a couple of swirls over the grass I stuck a fish off the break and was surprised when it rolled up at the boat. I swapped back to the jigs and worked the edge for a good distance and did not pick up another crappie. This one must have been lost! Moved down river and worked a few docks with no luck. Went over to a stump point off the river channel and caught a couple more shorts. Boat traffic started picking up and it was getting hot so I headed back up river and called it a day.
