A very fun day of fishing for Debbie and myself today. We fished from around 9:30 until 3:15. Debbie hadn't been crappie fishing since she's been out of town for awhile so I'm glad the bite was good today. We caught 50 crappie exactly with close to 38 keepers...somewhere between 22-25 white crappie and most of them were in the afternoon again...3 yellow bass... 2 largemouth...2 bream...1 spotted bass...1 drum. We hit them with with our full arsenal of minnows and jigs again out of the pontoon. We caught fish from 12-23 feet. I caught a 14 inch TARP...Deb caught a 13.5 inch and we also caught a 13 and a 12.5 inch. Deb also caught a pretty good bass. We had 5 hook-ups at the same time on different rods. The highlight of my day was late in the afternoon fishing a tuffy on my top hook and a Ghastly Minnow Scent Wiggl'r on the bottom hook. I caught a white crappie on the top one and a black crappie on the bottom...sweet ! I got a kick out of that one. Blue Thunder Baby Shad and Ghastly Minnow Scent Wiggl'rs worked best for us today. The white crappie loved the minnows. Water temperature 82-85. Fun was an 11 on the 10 scale. Thank you Chickamauga Lake.
