You discovered the bass fishing was awesome at Salem Pond two months ago?
Just kidding, but I grew up down in Spanish Fork, and Salem Pond was one of the places that I fished regularly. It reminds me of Utah Lake, but with trout.
There's some pretty good sized catfish and blue gill in there as well. From what I've "researched" on Google Maps, it looks like a creek from Utah Lake runs into it, but I'm not 100% sure. According to Utah record books, the state record white bass was caught out of Salem Pond. I personally have never caught any white bass in there, but I would'nt be at all surprised if a record blue gill, largemouth, or catfish was caught out of that pond. It's one of those places that you never know what you're gonna catch... I love those kind of places.
P.S. there's a big bridge across the pond towards the east end that says "jumping off the bridge is prohibited"... I've jumped off it many a time.
(sorry for the excessive
