Hadn't been out since CBA Sat nite, so I was itching! Got to the ramp about 7:15 & started doing what I was confident in, Throwin the big worm on grass. Spent an hour & had 1 short. Moved to a shallow ridge with grass down to about 8' & caught a nice 4.5 on the Whiplash with a 10" worm, but that was it! Saw some baitfish activity up shallower so headed up there with a spook & caught a keeper & a slick. Pulled out the buzzbait & headed down a shallow grassline & that was it. Caught a 4#, a few casts later a 2#, Then threw over a grass point & a wake heads toward the bait. Thought it was a gar, then Whoosh, a 5.1# bass smashes it! It's 12 by now, so I head to the house to pick up Kim & go out downriver. Some storms start popping up, so she decides to stay home, I head to the ramp about 2:15 & run straight to shallow grass. The wind is blowing into it & it's clouded up & I have probably the best buzzbait time I've ever had! Catch 18-20 before I have to leave at 4:30, biggest was 5.6#. It was an awesome couple of hours! I took some pics but I was trying to just get the bait back in the water ASAP. Nothing beats that topwater!
