The rain stayed around my house until about 6:30 today, so i decided it was a little late to head to the lake. My kids were wanting to go fishing, so i decided to go to my friends pond. My oldest daughter had been wanting to learn how to use an open face & artifical baits. So i bought her a new rod & reel yesterday. Put on a 6" zoom finesse worm in junebug color and told her how to work the worm on the retrieve. She suprised me and caught a bass on her 4th cast. She was so proud, it was the first bass she caught all by herself. Made me so proud too. She wound up catching 4 bass, not too bad for her first time using an open face and worm. Me and my other daughter and son caught 8 bass. Mostly small except for the 5.32 lber i caught in the stump field in the back of the pond. Didnt think i was ever going to get it out of all the stumps and brush, but finally did. Best bass ive caught in that pond this year. A great afternoon of fishing with my kids and now my oldest daughter cant wait to go back so she can catch more fish by herself.
