Derek asked me if I would like to go fishing on Labor Day and since my foot was better and I had not been in a couple weeks I jumped all over it. Since neither of us had been on the water in a while we just went junk fishing. We both thought after Ben Hayes's report the bass would be all over top water with a over cast but we could not buy a top water bite. Tried some of everything from Sammie, spook to frog, nota, nothing. Went to a deeper bite with t-worms and shakeys, we found a few that wanted to play. About mid morning we changed over to cranks and started getting some on that also. Ended up with a very nice morning trip. We both also caught nice cats on cranks. emoRolleyes Since we were just out for fun it was nice to have those fights also.<br /><br />Those were the three baits that did it for us today. Our best five would have hit the 17 lb mark, best three 12 lbs. My best was 4 lbs 3 ozes and Derek's best was 4 lbs 10 ozes. I know we have pictures of the two best and Derek said he would post them later. Nothing huge but a very nice fun morning out with a good friend. emoThumbsup Can't complain about that. I would guess our shallowest fish came out of about eleven feet and our deepest out of about 20 feet. Never found a mother load but just picked one up here and there throughout the morning.<br /><br />Looking forward to the CFF this coming weekend. emoTongue C-ya on the water. Jmax
