Decided not to fish the dogfight this morning and just went for fun. I started off on a shallow grass flat thinking the top water or trap bight would be good but it was non existent! I went a little deeper to a grass edge in 8.5 fow and caught a nice keeper around 4-4.5 pounds. Left there and found another weed line the same depth and caught two more between 4-4.5 and felt good about the limit I had by 8:30. I fished more similar areas but only found short strikes and short fish. About 10:30 I idled up a point that had scattered rocks leading up to grass in 7 feet and marked several big hooks. I threw a big worm behind the boat and let it drag across the rocks and one killed it. In the boat comes one over 6 and I thought I might get a school of big ones fired up but I couldn't get another bight. At this time I'm wishing I had paid an entry fee. That was my last keeper. All fish were in grass/ rocks in 7.5 to 15 fow. All fish bit a variety of colors and t- rigged worms. I had to pay attention because they didn't bight real good. Sometimes I barely felt a tap and just set the hook. The big one was the only one that thumped it hard. I saw the Legend out there today and he had Jmax in the back seat LOL. Good to see you out Jmax and you too Derek. Sounds like they had the same type of luck I did. Left at noon because I knew HBSP would be a loony bin.
