I went to the Duchesne River for the first time with my dad on Monday since I had it off school. There's several camp sites and we parked at them and fished each section of river. Some were better than others. It's definatey a strange river in my eyes, one area it will be like a creek with fast water but "holes" but then one part will be really wide but super shallow(and crappy fishing) but then parts will be more like a pond or lake and not like a river or creek at all.

We caught over 50 fish and most were really small, but here's a few pictures of some of the better ones.

Oh and Here's a kind of cool side deep pool. Water is super clear obviously and you could see it was 6-8 feet deep.

My dads camera has lots more of the actual fish and I'll probably get more of the pictures in a few days.

nice man, that little river can be a blast on the fly hittin the pocket water. I always like to camp there so you got a stream next to camp the whole time.[fishin]

Yeah man it was pretty cool. I will definitely head back there sometime and walk alot farther than me and my dad did because of his knees. We were hoping for a little bit bigger fish but it was still fun.I forget the exact order but I remember Iron mine, and Hades were the first campsites and they were were way more mossy than whatever one the next campsite is. We did a lot better at the farther away campsites where the water wasn't mossy. There was also part of the river where they had a diversion dam near the first campsite and it was wide open, so lots of fish probably get stuck in there Sad.

It was still quite a bit better than the the streams by Mirror Lake. I caught a good 7 or 8 8-12 inch fish and my dad probably got about that many as well. In the Uintahs in the streams I'm lucky if I even get 2 that are bigger than 5 inches. Hopefully next year I can get more into lures and flies. I was supposed to this year but I got really involved with the cats so it never really happened[laugh]. Flies would actually probably work better than worms in certain spots.
