I am new to this message forum but have really enjoyed the ideas and the positive insights instead of the constant bickering that always happens on other message boards.

What I was wondering is if anybody has tried out the Berkley Micro Nymph. I bought some of these one inch plastic nymphs at Sportsman's Warehouse two weeks ago and then had the opportunity to fish them through the ice at Huntington the day after Thanksgiving. I caught seven nice tiger trout and am the only person that had consistent success for the short while we were there. I am just looking for any more advice on how to fish them and also a good place to fish with them at Scofield. About a month ago I caught some nice fish at Scofield from the shore and when I cleaned them I found little one inch crawfish inside of each fish. These nymphs look very similar to the little crawfish I found. I also found some Berkley one inch craw fish jigs at Wal Mart and haven't tried them out yet.

I may be heading to Scofield this Saturday and if anybody else is heading up let me know. I would like to meet some other people that have this same Sad addiction of ice fishing that I was lucky enough to acquire last year. I would like to get some good advice and ice fishing alone is just not as fun. I am in Springville if anybody is heading through my way.

[Wink]Welcome aboard, dude! You're gonna love this forum. Everyone is cool, and you can learn a lot and share a lot of ideas with very knowledgeable fisherman. As for those Berkley Micro Nymph's-sounds interesting, but I don't have any yet, but might want to check into getting some. Can't help you out there, but I'm going to Scofield Saturday and so are a few others (see post below). I'll be wearing a green coat and black snow pants etc., and will be with a buddy of mine over about halfway between the island and shore. Good luck![pirate]

Welcome, incredible amount of info on this board. Most of the guy have forgotten more than I know, so I just lurk in the background and read. My son and I will be on Scofield early Sat. I wear a long calf length duster on the ice. Drop by and say Hi if you see us. We'll be sitting on our buckets somewhere between the shore and the island.

Just got back from Sportsmans 'cause I forgot to pick up a sled at HFT yesterday and I live down in Salt Lake, so when I was there I picked up a packet of the Berkley Nymphs. I think I'll try them out with a 1/8 oz. silver kastmaster about a foot above that and rub some crawdad smellyjelly on it as one of the others above suggested. Good luck on saturday, bro.

Welcome aboard fishluvr. Nice to have you hear. I'm glad you did so well on the tigers up at Huntington.

I've never had the chance to use the micro nymph, but after seeing your report I may have to pick some up.

Good luck next time you head out.

[#ff0000][size 3]Oh great, it looks like there is going to be a run on the Berkley micro nymphs now.... Never tried them but am curious, if I can find any now after your post![Wink] Myself, I prefer fishing the soft water but when it freezes, a nuts gotta do what a nuts gotta do. Did you sign up for the free Hooked Fishing Tackle ice fishing class? It's in Kaysville but should be some great information and a chance to hook up with some other folks also. [/size][/#ff0000]
