After three days and 32 hours of practice Gene Brooks and I were not very excited about fishing the 2nd Annual Spro Frog tx on Guntersville. We had caught 2 fish day one of practice, 4 fish on day 2, and we had about 13 lbs yesterday. We went back a relied on the experience we have accumulated the last few months. We started out Flippin a 1/4oz Bonzeye with a 2 oz weight. And in the first hour we had 3 fish that weighed about 13 lbs! Including the big fish of 7.23lbs. we fished the next 5 hours without a keeper. Then in the early afternoon we caught a 4 lber and a 2 lber. With one hour to go Gene Brooks caught our final keeper of 4.63 lbs. Our scales were a little different than the offical scales but ended up with 21.67 and the winner had 22.30. Almost a $10,000 pay day but we were happy with 2nd and Big fish and made enough to pay for the gas and a new spro frog!
What a great weekend!! And we finished 2nd in the side pot "Beat the Pros" Troy Morrow and Dean Rojas.
Practice, stay positive and confident, and never give up!!!! Anything can happen!
