Headed out to the reservoir in two weeks. I've never been before but I've always wanted to go try catching some Walleye there. Anyone have any tips on what part of the reservoir, time of day, bait/lures? I've never caught a Walleye before. I've heard they are usually deeper and bite better early morning and around dusk with slow drift trolling jigs or spoons?

Welcome to BFT! I am sure you will get some great help. I find them near the bottom along rocky/sand areas where their prey will be hanging out. Fish with jigs or crank bait or even flies, if you fly fish. They feed on smaller fish, like perch or crappie and crawdads. They probably do feed alittle mor in the dimmer light as they do see better than their prey then. Probably will find them closer to shore then as well as they will be hunting for the supper or breakfast. Latter on the will move to a little deeper water. I personally like around 10'. IF you troll need to slow it down. If your casting work an area over before you move on. Bait wise the do like night crawlers and if you catch the crawdad there, the reservior your at, you can use them alive.
Again welcome to BFT and fill us all in with pic's and your results when you get home.

Idahopanfish has given you some very sound advice and he knows his stuff. In addition I might add a couple of my favorite methods such as pitching perch and crawdad imitation ShadRaps to the rocky shore lines and working jigs along the shore and also out on the 10-14 foot deep flats. Trolling with wedding rings tipped with crawlers on bottom bouncers at about .9 to 1.2 mph works well for those fish on the flats as well.
