Hey all,

I am planning on coming up to the sun valley/ketchum area for a trip from salt lake city for my fall break from school next week. I haven't fished this area since I was way young and was wondering if anyone would have any advice or tips for the area ? Any help with flies or anything would be awesome!

Thanks

Big Wood was recently blown out from rains after the fire and carrying ash/silt, but could be clearing by then. Silver Creek is awesome IF you like fishing long fine leaders, small flies, and educated spooky fish. Its a unique creek, but you need some skills and patience. The Big Lost was fishing well last week up above Mackay. You can also drive over the pass into the Stanley area to fish the uppermost Salmon. I'd check with a fly shop or two when you get there for the latest reports. Silver Creek Outfitters is a good source. Not sure about the lakes around there.

When I go there, I can't avoid Silver Creek.

Use corn, due to the over development and the massive amount of sewer, the fish love it.
