Took my foreman and one of the guys on the crew out for a day on the river. Jeremiah has been with me before, but not Josh. Josh's biggest fish was only a 10 lb channel cat (big in my book).
The morning started off a bit slow but finally manged a 17lb blue in one spot for Jeremiah. Moved locations throught day and started catching fish as the afternoon wore on. After a dozen eaters or so I setup on a spot I was marking good fish on. I start off with a 35lb, as Josh was on the phone. No pics. Then I hooked a 21 lber which he fought and landed, so it set a new personal best for him!
I was sure that there was yet more fish to be had. After about 10 minutes the rod slowly loads up HARD! I hand the rod to Josh, and quickly realize its a VERY big fish. Watching that thing on the sonar was amazing. Sadly Josh wanted to horse him hard after about 10 minutes and even 65lb braid can give under such pressure. I really think he wanted to get back to that football game on his phone! emoEnforce
We called it a day after that, and I load the boat up with yet another hook lost in a bigunn.
A nice day to be out, with some nice fish caught!
