Today was my 68th birthday so I spent the day on Yuba. The lake temp was 52 Degrees and for the most part, mirror flat.
Last night I spooled an ultra lite reel with 2 pound Ande Mono and gathered up some small lures to try since the bigger lures weren't working as well as they had been and it never hurts to experiment. I built some 6" leaders with light wire to go with the rig and I was ready.
I dropped the electric trolling motor and worked well established fish producing structure, casting the small lures and spinners. The day ended with 2 thirty six inchers (yard Stiks) and one much smaller fish. All three are still in the reservoir waiting until they grow up!
A thoroughly enjoyable day. Maybe tomorrow I'll drag the boat back down there and try for that 41" Pike that has evaded me all summer.
