Dr Phil and I had a good 2.5 to 3 hour crappie fishing trip this morning. It was nice and calm early and sunny. Mirror glass surface for a while, then the wind picked up out of the north and the bite then began to subside. The bite picked up around 9 or so and was pretty good for about an hour. That coincided with my fishintime watch. We fished until about 10:30 or so and put the boat on the trailer. We landed about 12 or so keepers and had several throwbacks and Pat gave us a couple of fish for Dr Phil's dinner.

Two white crappie and all the rest were black crappie. We kept 11 nice quality fish up to 13.75 inches. I'm trading crappie for venison. emoBig
I located another nice deep break on structure that was loaded with crappie, but we were on the way to the ramp and I only put a waypoint on it. I'll save that for another day. It looked like a massive stump or car sized boulder. It had fish over the top and on the side of it. It was in 20 feet of water.

Water temp this AM was 69.3 when we started. I'm glad to see the temps dropping and they will drop like a rock in a couple more days. Predicted to be 29 for a low Friday night. All the fish will get frisky then. emoThumbsup emoDance emoFish emoBig
emoGeezer

Our fish were caught deep on 1/16 oz Bobby Garland Jigs in combo colors. Dr Phil caught one of my pets and a trashy green spotted bass.
