Saw where they just planted 200 steelhead in the Boise River. It says (on F & G website) that they stocked 5 places between Glenwood bridge and Barber Park. Anybody know where a good hole might be?

Fished barber park as they were dumping them in. Fishing was slow. Got one just at dark last night. Fished until 2 in the afternoon today and saw a few fishermen, but not even one with a fish, except the one I had on right up until I tried to beach it. Most of the fish are still in there, but I think they must be getting spread out.

Thanks everyone. I tried it late yesterday afternoon at Barber Park and at times had a couple holes to myself. Nobody caught anything. I was using a bobber and jigs. It was so shallow that the deepest I was able to fish was 5 feet deep.

I was upstream of the Parkcenter bridge this morning while it was still completely dark out (6:45ish) and left about 11:45. Saw one person catch one, and heard that 2 more people each caught one. All pretty much before 8am. Turned into a beautiful day, but didn't see any others hooked.
I did go up onto the bridge and saw a few from above. There were some perfectly placed drifts by the guys below and the fish didn't even notice.

How long do they last? Do people catch them up right away? Only 200, I'm new to area and that does not seem like many. Still beats making a 5 hour trip to the river to find them though.
Not trying to hijack the thread, but I have some free time Wednesday morning and was wanting to try for some trout on the Boise in town[reply][/reply]. Will I be competing for space with a bunch of steelheaders?
