So my boy loves to eat the catch that I bring in. Problem with this catch is there are sores on the sides of them and not sure if they are safe to eat. Anyone know?

Read my East canyon report. Rockport, East canyon and Echo all have the anchor worm in the trout. They are safe to eat but ugly to look at. Were they rainbows that you caught?

They were Bows. Wished I could have caught some of the Browns the DWR guy was talking about. Thanks for the answer. I will read the post.

Were your bows as ugly as the ones we caught in the pic on my EC thread? This time of the year, the worms are starting to come out of the bows because of the cold water temps and it can get ugly[frown].

I've caught some fish from Rockport like that too. Enough to give your stomach a bit of a churn sometimes, but I've eaten them and they were fine. At least I never felt any ill effects from it. I just cut around the really bad sores, but I didn't know that they were worms.... Sounds like human bot flies. Kinda interesting.
But hey, I figure that if it were dangerous to eat then they would have come out with a health advisory about it by now and we would have heard about it on here. [:p]
