Took a ride to the gorge today. Went as far as breeze hill and it all had ice. I didn't drive to the shore and check the depth, but I think it's OK for fishing. Just be careful and drill your way out onto the ice.

Not sure about ice at buckboard but I just read another post that said. 8 inches at fire hole and they are catching fish.

That's great news, now to find time to take a weekend venture up there, I love firehole.

I was up there yesterday too and Buckboard was still open. As cold as it is, it could've changed by now. I checked Sage Creek and it was 3-inches and a mile below Firehole was 8-inches.

I've never tried Fire Hole, although I'm very tempted to try it this year. Coming from Utah it seems like the extra distance around the top of the lake would take a lot more driving, so I usually just go to Lost Dog. Hopefully LD will be fishable really soon since it isn't that far from Fire Hole. Has anyone seen evidence of people fishing at LD yet?
As cold as it is here I'm sure Lost Dog is frozen enough to fish. The blacks fork arm is for sure ready to ice fish.

Thanks! I'll give it a shot this week!
