It was a perfect day for fishing today. Cloudy, very little wind at all, misty, but air temp was just right for a black nose crappie fishing trip. Across the fog bank that was Monteagle mountain, and down the back side to Cowan, then Winchester, and finally to Rick's house. We were on the water in about 30 minutes after that.

I didn't have a lot of time to fish today because my grand daughter had a Christmas concert tonight, so we had to stop fishing just as the major movement was beginning to happen. I hate it when that happens. The morning bite was pretty good though.

I landed a 14.5 inch Black Nose Crappie on the very first cast on a 6 count with a 1/24 oz jig head dressed with a Bobby Garland Full Moon. We were fishing docks. After pics and measurement, made the 2nd cast and caught another keeper on a 9 count, around 12 inches or so. Fat fish. 3rd cast, a 14.5 inch Tarp Black nose crappie on a 5 count. Then the bites began to come farther and farther apart. We caught 9 from that spot before moving to another dock.

Landed a 13.5 inch Black Nose under that dock, and that was it for the day. We did scout and scan a couple more docks to see if the fish had moved up and indeed they have. We didn't have time to really fish those, so we are saving them for another day.

Thanks for taking me fishing today, Rick. You know how much I love those big Black Nose Crappie over there. Beautiful lake and very good company. I didn't catch all the fish, but Rick didn't want his pic taken. So you will just have to look at my ugly mug. Just look at the fish. They are beautiful. Grin. emoBig emoGeezer

Wolftever kid knows where I caught that first TARP. Or should.
