Got a call from my buddy Jeff last night seeing if I wanted to make the drive to Knoxville and go to Norris Lake to chase some smallies. We were drifting shiners along points. Most of the action seemed to be on the back end of the points we fished. Got out around 8:30, and before the second rod was ready...bam, first cast, first fish. 20" smallie. Thought that was going to be bad luck, but about 5 minutes later we miss one and 20 minutes later I catch an 18". I thought to myself, "i guess it really isnt bad luck to catch one on the first cast". Bad thought. Missed 1 more about 2 hours later, and nothing else for rest of day. So caught 2 total fish, both nice, and missed 2. Damn that north wind!!! Haha. Got off water around 2:30. Toes were FREEZING! Figured I would write this report while Jeff drives me back to my car.
