According to the Strawberry Bay Marina & Lodge Facebook page as of Sunday "the lake hasn't frozen yet, a couple of the bays (doesnt say which one's) have some ice but no word on how thick. It's getting close though!" Im sure the ice covered bays are fishable. If Utah Lake has 4" of ice in the bays I'm sure Strawberry has more but then again, who knows?! It might be worth a trip to find out. If it's not fishable we can blame George Bush, because it would be his fault. []

If you guys end up heading up to the berry let me know about the ice. I'm dying to get up there on the hard deck! Hopefully I can wrangle a couple of my roommates into trying out the early ice or I'll be flying solo.

I drove by today, Chicken Creek had ice in the bay. It stretched out a couple hundred yards. Didn't look safe. Ladders had really thin ice. The bay by the dam turnoff was frozen, and a few people were fishing it. I think it will be a couple of weeks before the entire lake is frozen. Utah lake always freezes sooner than most.
