The friend to all "uthards" fish4life123 wants all of us "fish killing uthards" to know that there is a tagged fish contest in Idaho going right now.
In fact our friend caught a tagged fish earlier this week! I am assuming at Chesterfield, his favorite lake in SE Idaho. And his buddy said "Fantastic There is a tagged fish in Oakley worth a grand"
So this Friday we can all go buy our lotto tickets for the $400 mill lotto this weekend. AND you can have a chance at the consolation prizes in tagged fish too!! [

Never Ice Fished before, but I am pretty lucky...someone wanna drill me some holes[laugh][laugh]

Idaho power puts the majority of the tagged fish in the snake river from Shoshone falls downstream. CJ anyone? I'm gonna try it on Friday? To dam cold for sturgeon. (Maybe thru the ice) I just blew my own mind.

Just a heads up if you haven't been to Oakley there is a downhill slope going to the reservoir that's isn't real steep but right now is ice and on the south side of the road is a 300 ft drop off no guard rail be very careful sometimes snow chains is the only way out. this is where the grade starts and the point of no return until you get to the bottom. And just for the record I have nothing against utah folks I often look threw your forum just to see fishing adventures because out forum gets slow

She is doing pretty good and thank you. when I told her i was going out to get it last night she said i sure would like to go fishing this weekend, Im glad she is feeling well enough to suggest it maybe we will set foot on the ice somewhere this weekend
This is tied on a 1/32 no 6 sickle tube jig hook with the lead trimmed back and tapered so there isn't a lot of bulk at the head. I found it to produce a little better than the wooly bugger jigs.

Oh i knew that and figured you would like it in a jig pattern for ice fishing Beautiful fish by the way , Last year i did really well on the wooly buggers But there hard to tye on a jig so don't judge my tying job too bad lol. I have tyed all of those combos and did really well on these colors the freakazoid on the lower right has brought a good many fish to the hard deck. I also do really well on olive and orange. Im going to do a bunch of work with the soft hackles this year as they are much easier to make

Nothing will look more like a LEECH than a soft hackle. The way they ungulate is awesome. Add some bulk to the middle of the hook like polar chenille and it will emulate a fantastic bait fish .
As far as JIGS
