I was not going to fish this weekend, but the wifey said to go ahead and fish since it was going to be nasty, and probably be an awesome day on the water. She was right it was one of the best days I have had in a while.

Me and Dave started out fishing a place that has been good to us for the last couple of trips. In the first 5 minutes I say get the net its a good one. The fish started dogging me and just came unplugged. I thought, No not one of these days....About 2 min later I hear Dave Say "GET THE NET", and I see this hog molly jump out of the water. I put the net under her and said that girls got to be atleast 7. Ended up she weighed 8.26#. We were like now that is how you start a tourney. About 15 min later. I hook up again, and get this one to the boat nice 4.56# fish. So at this point we had 2 that go almost 13#. We end up filling a limit in our first area with 2
3.5#'s and one 2# fish. At this point we are thinking we had around 21 pounds. We left the area about 9:15, because the action seemed to have died down in the area. We looked at each other and said "Not a bad stop", and kinda grinned at each other. We both knew this was going to be a day to remember.

We move to our next spot, and only cull once with another 3.5#, but every little bit helps. Moved again to a spot that didn't yield anything, But we knew the fish were very active so we knew if we got in the right area we could load the boat again.

So about 12 oclock we moved to our next area, and it was the right move. second cast in the area bam one hits my trap. It was a good one. We net the fish and it was a good 6# fish. We thought at this point we were thinking we could possibly have a mega bag today. Ten minutes later bam one hits me again. Fight her get her in the net another 5# fish. After the high fives and catching are breathes, we thought we need one more big one to get over 30 pounds. about 20 minutes later bam we get another one to jump on the trap. I thought there she is another 6# fish. It was not 6 pounds it ended up weighing right at 4# and that was a wrap for us. Caught some more solid keepers, but nothing that would cull.... all fish were caught on traps from 2-8 FOW

Ended up with just under 28 pounds for tournament good enough for second place. Congrats to Patton & Vetton on a huge bag of fish that weighed 31 pounds. Great job guys
