Do they close Henry's Lake for ice fishing in January for the season? I heard something like that today, just wondering

Having been up there before there are a couple good things to know.
#1- it WILL be windy regardless of what the weatherman has to say about it.
#2- The hatchery is a great place to start but BE CAREFUL. They have aerators to help keep the shallow lake oxygenated. This is to prevent winter kill so there will be open water. Just test drill holes and stay to the east or west and you should be fine.
#3- Be careful on the drive up. There are lots of critters that like to cross that road and in poor road conditions you have an even lower chance of stopping or dodging them.
