Hi all, hope you had a Merry Christmas! Lately I have been working on putting together a tutorial for a DIY automatic hook setter. I built a couple last year, and a few more this year that work great and use them along with a JawJacker I purchased a while back. Love the JawJacker, but don't have the money to buy a bunch. If you are like me and like tinkering with DIY stuff have a look at my blog.

Hope everyone is able to get on the water a bit during the holidays.

You my friend must be an engineer or miss your calling.
Simply impressive.

Awesome work!

I think that the "Jaw Jackers" in general are a good thing. They usually hook the fish in the mouth or jaw rather than it getting gut hooked as it swallows the bait etc. I don't mind harvest, but I also don't like to see gut hooked fish released.

I know what I'll be doing the next day I get winded out...

That is awesome! I have zero ability to create something like this but I'm a great direction follower! Thanks for sharing.

very nice, I think you have a great proto type going, refine the parts and milling and you might market a few

Ha ha, I do believe I would be sued. I'm not sure it's different enough from the JawJacker to market, plus I wouldn't want to take away business from what seem like good guys. No no, I just like making my own gear. If it were some great new breakthrough contraption I would probably consider it.

Wow, you certainly are skilled to be able to engineer that.
