I took a half a day off yesterday due to doctor appt. It went pretty fast so I decided to go fishing and take my stepson. We put in around 1 at Wolfteaver. Wanted to catch some whites and stripers but they didn't cooperate. Patrick has never thrown a rig before, so I tied on a 3 wire on a spinning reel that had 30lb braid. I caught 1 on a shallow point around 4lbs. So went shallow looking for bass but no takers. I decided to go back to where I caught mine. Made a few cast but nothing. I told Patrick lets fish behind us in deeper water where I seen bait on a break into deeper water with a mud line the wind was causing. That's when Patrick set the hook, I asked are you hung, then I seen that toad flop on the surface. We landed it and took pics, weighed, and released. It weighed 7lbs 9oz, I was so happy for him. Before that 3lbs or so was his biggest. emoDance Way to go buddy!
